I am a National Board Certified Licensed Professional Counselor supervisor in both Alabama and Georgia with over 10 years of experience in clinical mental health. I specialize in working with women and men who battle with mental and emotional disturbances such as depression, anxiety, and mood related disorders. I have received extensive training on how to assist both women and men in managing relationship anxiety and OCD. I am also affluent in several counseling modalities including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, DBT, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, and Mindfulness Techniques. An ideal client would include adolescents and women (including postpartum mothers) suffering from mild to moderate depression and anxiety. I have been told by clients that I possess a warm, empathic and inviting spirit and exude a passion for assisting others in their healing. I am a mother of a 13 year old daughter and 1 year old French bulldog named Romeo and I reside in Rainbow City, AL. I am currently an Associate Licensed Counselor under the Supervision of Sharika Pruitt, LPC-S and working to obtain my full licensure in Professional Counseling. I completed my Bachelor’s of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Alabama and then my Master’s of Science Degree in Counseling with a concentration in Community Agency Counseling from Jacksonville State University. I am so excited to be serving clients at Crossroads to Pathways Counseling. In my years of experience, I have worked in various clinical settings to include inpatient mental health, inpatient substance abuse, outpatient substance abuse, and outpatient community mental health. During that time, I also worked as a Case Manager and legal advocate for incapacitated clients. In my experiences as a counselor, I have served children, adolescents, adults, and the geriatric population. I have a great passion for working with children and adolescents. In my practice, I utilize a blend of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Client-Centered Therapy, mindfulness, and other holistic approaches. I was drawn to the counseling field through my love for helping people and providing them with the tools to create change in their lives. I find fulfillment in helping clients process their thoughts, emotions, and feelings in a way that promotes healing and growth. Through my development of counseling skills and life experiences, I have gained the ability to build rapport and provide therapeutic interventions that promote a positive therapeutic alliance with my clients. I live in Gadsden and am the mother of a 10 year old daughter. We have two very spoiled English bulldogs that we love to take for walks. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling to visit friends and family and love to watch my daughter cheer and dance. I have evening and weekend appointment times available to assist the busy mom/dad and to make counselor more convenient.
